Welcome to Helena’s Chocolate Café & Crêperie, a slice of Europe in downtown Carlisle. We feature a selection of sweet and savory French-style crepes, handmade chocolates in the Belgian tradition, French macarons in a variety of mouthwatering flavors, and an ever-changing selection of desserts. We also offer Italian-style cappuccinos, espressos, café lattes and café mochas using Lavazza™ beans, and our very own homemade hot chocolate using sinfully delicious 64% dark Belgian chocolate shavings — no powdered mix here! Seasonally, we also offer a variety of flavors of Italian gelato.
Helena’s was opened in 2011 by Helena Twigg, who makes all of the artisan chocolates in-house, and her partners, husband Ryan Twigg and close friend Ross Morris, who are both co-owners of nearby restaurants Café Bruges and Andalusia. Morris also owns Trattoria Piatto. All four restaurants in our family share a single philosophy: Fresh and (where possible) local ingredients, simply prepared, and shared in good company — this is one of life’s greatest pleasures.
